The Central Government has withdrawn the temporary restrictions on the supply of commercial LPG cylinders imposed during the recent West Asia crisis, Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota said on Thursday.
In a post on X, Kota stated that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) had informed all states and Union Territories that the precautionary curbs were being lifted following a review of the prevailing geopolitical situation and its impact on fuel supplies.
According to the Chief Secretary, the Government of India has decided to restore the availability of commercial LPG cylinders to normal levels with immediate effect. The move reverses the temporary measures that were introduced amid concerns over possible disruptions to fuel supplies during the period of heightened tensions in West Asia.
The decision is expected to ensure uninterrupted availability of commercial LPG for businesses and establishments that depend on the fuel for their operations.
