HM Amit Shah to Chair NCORD Meeting, Unveil Anti-Narcotics Roadmap

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair the 10th Apex-Level Meeting of the Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD) in New Delhi on June 26. The meeting, organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), will bring together representatives from Central ministries, State governments and drug law enforcement agencies to review and strengthen the country’s efforts against drug trafficking and substance abuse.
During the meeting, Shah will release the Vision Document on Narcotics Control 2026–2029, which outlines a comprehensive strategy to tackle the drug menace through coordinated measures focused on demand reduction, supply reduction and rehabilitation. The document also addresses emerging challenges such as synthetic drugs and darknet-enabled trafficking, while emphasising awareness, treatment and rehabilitation services.
The Home Minister will also release the NCB Annual Report 2025 and inaugurate newly constructed NCB zonal offices in Jammu and Guwahati. In addition, he will launch the Online Drug Disposal Fortnight Campaign, under which around 2,09,500 kilograms of seized narcotic substances, valued at approximately ₹6,000 crore, are expected to be destroyed across the country in accordance with legal procedures.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the meeting aims to reinforce the government’s zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking, assess ongoing anti-narcotics initiatives and chart a roadmap for effective narcotics control over the next three years.
