Minister Ratan Lal Nath Calls for Global Participation in Tripura Global Pineapple Festival 2026

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Wednesday appealed to people from across India and abroad to participate in the Tripura Global Pineapple Festival 2026, highlighting it as a landmark event that will showcase the state's globally acclaimed Queen Pineapple and create new opportunities for farmers, entrepreneurs and investors.
In a video message, Nath said the three-day festival will be held from June 27 to 29, 2026, at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. Organized by the Government of Tripura in association with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, the festival aims to bring Tripura’s flagship fruit to the international stage and strengthen its global market presence.
Highlighting the significance of the event, the minister said the festival will provide a common platform for farmers, exporters, food processors, investors, policymakers and international buyers to explore trade opportunities and forge new business partnerships. He noted that Tripura’s GI-tagged Queen Pineapple is renowned for its exceptional sweetness, aroma, low fibre content and superior quality.
The festival will feature exhibitions of fresh pineapples and value-added products, buyer-seller meets, B2B networking sessions, trade and export forums, cultural programmes, handicrafts exhibitions and food festivals showcasing pineapple-based delicacies and the rich culinary traditions of Tripura and the Northeast.
A key attraction of the festival will be the celebration of World Pineapple Day on June 27, alongside farmer felicitation programmes, international trade discussions and cultural performances. Delegates from various countries, agribusiness firms and government agencies are expected to participate in the event.
Emphasizing the government's commitment to strengthening the horticulture sector, Nath said the festival forms part of a broader strategy to establish Tripura’s Queen Pineapple as a global brand and enhance farmers’ income through exports, processing and value addition. He also highlighted the state's efforts under the Mission Queen Pineapple initiative to improve cultivation, processing and marketing infrastructure.
Appealing for widespread participation, the minister expressed confidence that the Tripura Global Pineapple Festival 2026 would not only boost investment and trade but also showcase Tripura’s agricultural excellence, vibrant culture and warm hospitality before a global audience.
