Sushanta Chowdhury Reviews Key Tourism Projects, Calls for Faster Execution

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday reviewed the progress of several flagship tourism projects coming up at Sachindranagar in Jirania and directed officials to accelerate work to ensure their timely completion.

Chairing a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat, the minister assessed the status of the proposed Tripura Heritage Village, the Sangeet Experience, and an amusement park modelled on Kolkata’s Nicco Park, all of which are expected to emerge as major tourist attractions in the state.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary and Director of the Tourism Department, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Jirania, representatives of the construction agency, engineers and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, Chowdhury reviewed the implementation of the projects in detail and issued a series of suggestions and directives aimed at expediting construction and maintaining quality standards. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

Highlighting the importance of tourism in Tripura’s economic growth, the minister said the ongoing initiatives are part of the state government's broader vision to strengthen tourism infrastructure and create new destinations for visitors. He noted that the projects would not only enhance Tripura’s tourism profile but also generate employment opportunities and boost local economic activity.

Officials briefed the minister on the current status of the works and assured him that necessary measures would be taken to implement the directives and maintain the pace of development.

Once completed, the projects are expected to significantly enrich Tripura’s tourism landscape and attract a larger number of tourists from across the country and beyond.
