CM Manik Saha Launches Swachhata App, Calls for Public Participation in Waste Management

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday launched the “Swachhata App” and unveiled the official “Swachhata” slogan at a state-level workshop on the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, reaffirming the government's commitment to building a cleaner and greener Tripura.
The workshop, held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala, focused on the role of elected representatives and civil society organizations in ensuring the effective implementation of the new waste management regulations across the state.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that achieving a sustainable and environmentally conscious future requires collective efforts from public representatives, government agencies, non-governmental organizations and citizens. He said public participation and awareness are essential for the successful management of solid waste and the protection of the environment.
Highlighting the significance of the newly launched initiatives, Dr. Saha said the Swachhata App and the official cleanliness campaign slogan would strengthen public engagement and encourage greater community involvement in maintaining clean surroundings. He expressed confidence that the initiatives would further boost the state's efforts toward effective waste management and environmental sustainability.
The Chief Minister also underscored the importance of cooperation between local bodies, civil society groups and residents in creating a cleaner and healthier Tripura for future generations.
Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, elected representatives, government officials and members of various civil society organizations were present at the programme.
The workshop reflected the state government's continued focus on promoting environmental awareness and implementing sustainable waste management practices through active public participation.
