Minister Tinku Roy Stresses Stronger Worker Welfare at ESIC Regional Board Meeting

Labour Minister Tinku Roy on Monday underscored the importance of strengthening social security measures and expanding welfare coverage for workers while attending the third Regional Board meeting of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).
Roy, who also holds the portfolios of Youth Affairs & Sports and Social Welfare & Social Education, participated in extensive discussions focused on enhancing the effectiveness of social protection schemes and ensuring broader access to welfare benefits for the workforce.
During the meeting, members deliberated on various initiatives aimed at improving the implementation of ESIC programmes and extending greater support to workers and their families. Discussions also centered on accelerating welfare measures to provide comprehensive social security and healthcare benefits to employees.
Highlighting the significance of worker welfare in the state's development agenda, Roy emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to strengthen the social safety net and ensure that the benefits of government-backed schemes reach every eligible worker.
The minister reiterated the government's commitment to safeguarding labour interests and promoting inclusive growth through effective welfare policies.
