In a significant boost to the state's animal resources sector, Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development, Sudhangshu Das, on Monday inaugurated the newly constructed vertical extension of the Directorate of Animal Resources Development (ARDD) headquarters in Agartala.
The expansion of the directorate building is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and improve service delivery for farmers, livestock owners and veterinary professionals across the state. The additional office space will enable the department to streamline its operations and better cater to the growing demands of the sector.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Das said the new infrastructure reflects the commitment of the state government under Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to strengthening the animal resources sector through modern facilities and improved governance.
"The vertical extension will significantly enhance the department's administrative capacity and ensure faster and more effective delivery of services to beneficiaries," the minister said.
Highlighting the government's focus on the sector, Das noted that several developmental initiatives are being implemented to improve livestock production, veterinary services and farmers' welfare. Earlier this year, the minister had announced an allocation of Rs 24 crore for various developmental projects under the Animal Resources Development Department.
Officials of the department and other dignitaries attended the inauguration ceremony.
