PM Modi, President Murmu Launch ₹47,600-Crore Odisha Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday joined President Droupadi Murmu in her native village of Pahadpur in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, where the two leaders participated in cultural and developmental programmes before inaugurating projects worth over ₹47,600 crore across the state.
The Prime Minister offered prayers at the revered Santhali Jahera, Goshani Peeth and Ho Jahera sacred groves, accompanied by President Murmu. He also visited exhibition stalls showcasing the rich tribal heritage, traditional crafts and indigenous products of the region and interacted with local residents to learn about their cultural traditions.
Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi received the Prime Minister upon his arrival in Pahadpur.
During the visit, Modi and Murmu toured the Skill Development Centre and the SLS Memorial Residential School, where the Prime Minister interacted with students and encouraged them to pursue education, skill development and self-reliance. He also engaged with tribal youth and members of the local community.
The visit coincided with President Murmu’s 68th birthday, adding special significance to the occasion. The leaders’ engagements reflected a shared commitment to tribal empowerment, educational advancement and inclusive development.
Later, the President and the Prime Minister attended a major public function at Dandbose in Rairangpur to mark two years of the Odisha Government. During the event, they inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth more than ₹47,600 crore across key sectors, aimed at boosting infrastructure, economic growth and public welfare in the state.
