Ring Topology OFC Network for Gram Panchayats Under BharatNet Review in Agartala


A ring topology Optical Fiber Cable network set to connect every Gram Panchayat in Tripura was at the centre of a review meeting held at the State Secretariat here in Agartala, where Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha and senior officials examined the implementation status of the Amended BharatNet Programme.

The meeting was convened to ensure the project moves forward smoothly and on time across the state. The Amended BharatNet Programme is one of the Government of India's flagship initiatives, aimed at providing broadband connectivity to all Gram Panchayats through Optical Fiber Cable under a ring topology network. In Tripura, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is serving as the Project Management Agency.

Kiran Gitte, Secretary, Information Technology, Government of Tripura; Anil K. Gehlot, Deputy Director General, Department of Telecommunications, North East Circle; and Jeya Ragul Geshan B, Director, IT, Government of Tripura were among those who attended. Other senior officers and concerned officials were also present. Meanwhile, District Magistrates and Block Development Officers from across the state joined the proceedings virtually.
