Security forces have intensified counter-insurgency and law enforcement operations across Manipur, leading to the arrest of three militants and the demolition of 26 illegal bunkers in separate operations.
According to officials, the arrested militants were active cadres of the banned People's Liberation Army (PLA) and its political wing, the Revolutionary People's Front (RPF). They were apprehended from different locations in Imphal West district and were allegedly involved in several violent and criminal activities.
In a separate operation, security personnel demolished 26 bunkers believed to have been used by armed groups in Kamjong and Ukhrul districts. During the operation, forces recovered a binocular, 23 empty cartridge cases, and eight live SBBL rounds.
