CM Dr. Saha Tours Devastated Agartala Market, Directs Officials to Expedite Relief Efforts

Nothing was left standing. By Tuesday morning, six shops and a club building in Agartala's Office Lane area lay in ruins after a fire swept through the locality in the dead of Monday night, prompting Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha to visit the scene and promise immediate relief to those who lost everything.

Dr. Saha toured the charred premises and spoke with affected shop owners and local residents to assess the damage. "This kind of incident is very unfortunate," he said, describing the scene as one of total destruction. "Everything has been burnt to ashes," he added, confirming that six shops and a club house were completely gutted.

The Chief Minister said a short circuit is the preliminary suspect, though an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause. He assured the victims that the state government would provide all possible assistance and said he would personally extend help to those who lost their livelihoods.

He also directed the relevant departments to deliver relief without delay and stressed the importance of a coordinated effort to rehabilitate affected families and businesses.

Saha was accompanied by West Tripura District Collector and District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, senior police officers and officials of the Sadar Sub-divisional Administration.
