Minister Sudhangshu Das Promotes Yoga for Healthy Living


Ahead of the observance of International Yoga Day, Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development, Sudhangshu Das, led a departmental yoga camp on Wednesday, underscoring the importance of yoga in fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

The yoga camp, held at the NSRCC, was jointly organised by the Fisheries, Animal Resources Development and SC's Welfare department. Senior officials, including departmental secretaries, directors and staff members, participated in the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Das highlighted the transformative benefits of yoga, stating that it plays a vital role in maintaining physical fitness while also promoting mental peace and emotional well-being. He noted that regular practice of yoga helps individuals lead a disciplined and positive life.

The minister urged people to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine, emphasizing that it can contribute significantly to building a healthier and disease-free society. He also called upon government employees and citizens alike to embrace yoga as a simple yet effective tool for improving overall quality of life.

The programme was organised as part of the state’s preparations for International Yoga Day, which will be observed across the country on June 21 with various awareness and participation activities.
