Tripura Launches 2nd Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet to Scale MSMEs Nationally

Aiming to establish direct commercial channels between homegrown businesses and external markets, the Second Tripura Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet 2026 commenced at Agartala's Hotel Polo Towers today under the RAMP scheme.
Inaugurated by Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, the event brought together 35 national buyers and 68 local MSME entrepreneurs to market agro-products, handicrafts, and processed foods, alongside newly announced state partnerships with digital giants Amazon and Zoho to scale local goods globally.
Speaking at the event, Minister Chakma said, "The state government's goal is to drive Tripura toward economic progress by making micro, small, and medium enterprises more robust."
"The government remains fully committed to creating an industry-friendly environment and providing necessary support to entrepreneurs," she added.
Moreover, she noted that "the state's GI-tagged Queen Pineapple, traditional Risha, and heritage bamboo and cane crafts have already garnered acclaim at national and international levels." She further urged interstate investors to "become partners in Tripura's development by sourcing local products."
The buyer-seller meet was organized as part of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) program. Regarding the focus of the event, organizers stated that the primary objective of this initiative is to establish a direct connection between local MSMEs and potential buyers from various parts of the country to facilitate market expansion and new business opportunities.
Meanwhile, addressing the event, Industries and Commerce Secretary Kiran Gitte announced that under the RAMP program, around 36,000 MSME units in the state will receive training, technological assistance, and financial benefits over the next two to three years.
"Plans have been set in motion to develop 2,400 model entrepreneurs, supported by dedicated RAMP desks at the block and municipal levels," Gitte added.
It is learned that during the inaugural edition of the meet held on February 7, 2026, 30 Letters of Intent and two Memorandums of Understanding were signed, marking a significant milestone for the state's MSME sector.
