Mayor Felicitates Meritorious Children of Journalists

Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder on Saturday felicitated meritorious children of journalists who excelled in the 2026 Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations at a special programme organized by the Agartala Press Club.
The felicitation ceremony was held at the Press Club premises, where successful students were honoured for their outstanding academic achievements. The event was attended by Agartala Press Club President Pranab Sarkar, Vice-President Chitra Roy, Secretary Ramakanta Dey, other office-bearers of the club, senior and young journalists, and parents of the award-winning students.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Dipak Majumder lauded the dedication and hard work of journalists, describing them as the mirror of society who tirelessly work day and night to keep people informed. He said that despite the demanding nature of the profession, the academic success of journalists’ children is highly commendable and reflects their determination and commitment to excellence.
The Mayor expressed confidence that such recognition would motivate students to strive for even greater achievements in the future. He also emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent and encouraging students to become responsible and enlightened citizens of the country.
