PM Modi to Engage Global Leaders at G7 Summit during France, Slovakia Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a five-day visit to France and Slovakia from June 14 to 18, during which he will participate in the G7 Summit and hold high-level bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening India’s global partnerships.
Briefing the media in New Delhi on Thursday, Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Sibi George, described the visit as “highly productive and wide-ranging.” The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes visits to Nice, Evian and Paris in France, as well as Bratislava in Slovakia.
At the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, Mr. Modi will attend the 52nd G7 Summit in Evian from June 15 to 17 as India joins the gathering as a partner country. The summit will provide an opportunity for the Prime Minister to engage with world leaders on issues of importance to India and the Global South. This will mark India’s 13th participation in a G7 Summit and Mr. Modi’s seventh consecutive attendance.
The outreach sessions of the summit, scheduled for June 16 and 17, will focus on renewing international partnerships, promoting balanced and inclusive growth, strengthening development cooperation, and ensuring the effective deployment of artificial intelligence. Discussions will also cover critical mineral supply chains, online safety for minors, and major geopolitical challenges.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Prime Minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with leaders of G7 member nations, partner countries, and international organisations, including the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, OECD and the African Development Bank.
During his stay in France, Mr. Modi will hold comprehensive talks with President Macron in Nice and jointly inaugurate the Bharat Innovates initiative. He will also address the Viva Technology Summit in Paris, one of Europe’s leading technology and startup events.
The Prime Minister will also visit Slovakia, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country since its independence in 1993. In Bratislava, he will hold talks with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and President Peter Pellegrini. The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral ties, boost investment and trade, and expand cooperation across key sectors.
