Tripura Web Media Forum Submits Memorandum to Governor

Seeking greater support for digital journalism and the protection of the interests of online news platforms in the state, the Tripura Web Media Forum on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu at Raj Bhavan.
A delegation of the Forum met the Governor and placed before him a set of demands aimed at strengthening the digital media sector in Tripura. The organization, which represents editors, journalists, photojournalists and sports journalists associated with web-based news platforms, urged the Governor to intervene for the overall development of the state's online media landscape.
The memorandum highlighted three key demands concerning the welfare, recognition and growth of digital news media in Tripura. The Forum emphasized the increasing role of web-based journalism in disseminating information and called for measures to ensure its sustainable development.
The delegation was led by Forum General Secretary Abhishek Dey. Among those present were Forum President Bapi Roy, along with Hirak Gupta, Shantanu Biswas, Dipjit Acharjee and Gautam Ghosh, among others.
Expressing confidence in the Governor's support, the Forum stated that it hopes the demands will be considered sympathetically and that appropriate steps will be taken to promote and strengthen digital journalism in the state.
The delegation also conveyed its best wishes for the Governor's good health and sought his cooperation in advancing the interests of Tripura's growing web media community.
