Assam CM Assigns Guardian Districts to Cabinet Ministers

Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Sunday announced the allocation of “Guardian Districts” among the newly inducted members of his Cabinet, assigning them responsibility for overseeing development and administrative coordination in designated districts across the state.
The announcement was made through a post on X, where the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the ministers would work in close coordination with district administrations to accelerate Assam’s journey toward progress and prosperity.
As per the allocation, Rameswar Teli has been assigned Tinsukia and Jorhat, while Atul Bora will oversee Kamrup (Metro) and Dhemaji. Charan Boro has been given charge of Kokrajhar, Baksa and Chirang, and Ajanta Neog will look after Morigaon and Kamrup.
Ashwini Ray Sarkar has been allotted Bongaigaon and Barpeta, whereas Ashok Singhal will supervise Darrang and Dhubri. Bimal Bora will oversee Sivasagar and Charaideo, and Biswajit Daimary has been assigned Nalbari and Sonitpur.
Jayanta Mallabaruah will be responsible for Tamulpur and Goalpara, while Kaushik Rai has been given Sribhumi and Hailakandi. Keshab Mahanta will look after South Salmara-Mankachar and North Lakhimpur, and Krishnendu Paul will oversee Dima Hasao and Cachar.
Nilima Devi has been assigned Bajali and Udalguri. Pijush Hazarika will supervise Nagaon, Hojai, Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong. Ranoj Pegu has been allotted Biswanath and Golaghat, while Susanta Borgohain will oversee Majuli and Dibrugarh.
“I am confident that the Hon’ble Ministers will work closely with the district administrations to further accelerate our journey towards progress and prosperity,” the Chief Minister stated.
