Minister Animesh Debbarma Leads World Environment Day Rally in Agartala

A large-scale awareness rally was organized in Agartala on Friday to mark World Environment Day 2026, with the event being led by Forest and Environment Minister Animesh Debbarma. The rally was organized by the Tripura State Pollution Control Board to promote environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The rally witnessed the participation of government officials, students, environmentalists, representatives of various organizations, and members of the public. Carrying banners and placards with messages on environmental protection, participants marched through key areas of the city, spreading awareness about the need to combat pollution, conserve natural resources, and protect the environment.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Animesh Debbarma stressed the importance of collective responsibility in preserving nature and ensuring a cleaner and greener future. He urged citizens, especially the younger generation, to adopt eco-friendly practices and actively contribute to environmental protection.
The minister highlighted the state government's commitment to environmental conservation and emphasized that public participation is essential for achieving sustainable development goals. He also called upon people to reduce plastic use, promote tree plantation, and support initiatives aimed at protecting biodiversity.
The rally formed part of the World Environment Day celebrations being observed across the state and served as a platform to encourage greater environmental awareness and community involvement in safeguarding the planet for future generations.
