Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Tripura on Thursday for a two-day official visit focused on development initiatives and security review meetings in the state. Amit Shah landed at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, where he was received by Chief Minister Manik Saha and senior state government officials.
During his visit, the Union Home Minister is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the proposed Pushpabanta Palace Hotel at the historic Old Raj Bhavan premises on Friday. The project seeks to convert the heritage property into a hotel, with the aim of promoting tourism while preserving the state’s architectural heritage. Officials said the initiative is expected to boost Tripura’s tourism sector and generate local employment opportunities.
Shah will also chair a high-level security review meeting with senior officials from the state administration and security agencies to assess the prevailing law and order situation and discuss strategic matters concerning the region.
In addition, he is scheduled to offer prayers at the revered Tripura Sundari Temple during his visit.
The Home Minister’s trip is being viewed as significant in the context of ongoing development projects and security coordination efforts in the northeastern state.
