Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Sudhangshu Das on Thursday inspected Fatikroy market — part of the Fatikroy assembly constituency — to review plans for upgrading it into a more organised, modern and user-friendly marketplace. Accompanied by local residents, market traders and engineers, Das surveyed the market area and held detailed discussions on infrastructure improvements, vendors’ required facilities, sanitation and traffic management.
He said the initiative prioritises public needs and overall area development, and expressed optimism that the proposed measures will transform Fatikroy market into a cleaner, more attractive and accessible commercial hub in the near future.
