CM: Tripura to get international standard cricket academy

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday said the state government is fast-tracking plans to establish a modern, international‑standard cricket academy in Tripura, with a suitable site already identified.
Speaking at Agartala’s Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan during a ceremony organised by the Tripura Cricket Association and supported by the State Bank of India to distribute 108 cricket kit bags, Dr. Saha said the government is also taking necessary steps to ensure timely completion of the international cricket stadium under construction at Narsinghgarh. He said officials have been instructed to speed up project implementation to meet scheduled deadlines.
Dr. Saha outlined the administration’s broader strategy to boost cricket in the state, including providing advanced training for emerging players, developing modern sports infrastructure, and strengthening programmes that nurture youth talent. “Our objective is to provide better facilities for promising athletes, expand the sports culture, and firmly place Tripura on the national sporting map,” he said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the development of sports in the state.
