SIR Phase-III Enumeration Begins in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim and Manipur

The Election Commission of India has commenced the enumeration process under Phase-III of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim and Manipur. The exercise began on Saturday as part of efforts to ensure accurate and updated electoral rolls.
According to the Commission, all eligible electors whose Enumeration Forms are received by the Electoral Registration Officer on or before June 28 will be included in the Draft Electoral Rolls. Electors who are unable to submit their forms by the deadline will have an opportunity to apply through Form 6, along with the prescribed Declaration Form, during the claims and objections period.
As part of the enumeration process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting house-to-house visits and distributing Enumeration Forms to existing electors. Voters can submit their duly filled forms either through BLOs or via the online platform.
The Commission has also authorized Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of recognized political parties to collect up to 50 Enumeration Forms per day from the public and hand them over to BLOs before the publication of the draft rolls.
The Election Commission has appealed to all eligible voters to actively participate in the Special Intensive Revision and cooperate with election officials during the verification process. The exercise aims to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out of the electoral roll while preventing the inclusion of ineligible persons.
