CM Manik Saha hails PM SVANidhi Progress; Thanks Centre for Scheme Extension

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday lauded the progress of the Prime Minister’s SVANidhi scheme and thanked the central government for extending the programme’s tenure to March 31, 2030, while addressing beneficiaries at the Muktadhara auditorium in the presence of Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Saha said the state government is committed to the socio-economic upliftment of street vendors by resolving their various problems. He praised street vendors for setting a strong example in financial discipline, embracing digital transactions and moving towards self-reliance.
“Street vendors are emerging as role models in adopting financial discipline and digital payments,” Dr. Saha said. He added that the government’s interventions aim to ensure lasting economic stability for these entrepreneurs.
According to officials, 19,727 loan applications have been received under the scheme so far, of which 9,578 have been approved and loans totalling INR 15.28 crore disbursed. About 5,000 street vendors have already repaid their loans.
Dr. Saha expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government for extending the SVANidhi scheme’s timeline, calling the move a significant boost for long-term support to street vendors.
