Trump Holds High-Level Meeting on Iran Ceasefire, No Outcome Announced

U.S. President Donald Trump held a two-hour meeting with his top advisers at the White House to discuss the possibility of a deal with Iran aimed at extending the current ceasefire.
The meeting, which took place in the Situation Room, concluded without any announcement or clarity on the next course of action.
Ahead of the discussions, Trump said that any agreement to prolong the ceasefire would require Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, commit to never developing a nuclear weapon, and allow the United States to remove its enriched uranium stockpile.
Iran, however, has continued to maintain that its nuclear programme is intended solely for civilian purposes.
Officials from both sides have yet to confirm whether progress was made during the talks, leaving the future of the proposed ceasefire extension uncertain.
