Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Thursday inaugurated the “Birsa Lives in New Bharat Week”, the third week of Janjatiya Garima Utsav 2026, at Pragna Bhaban in Agartala.
The four-week national celebration, organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, focuses on tribal empowerment and India’s journey toward a Viksit Bharat inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. This week’s theme honors tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda and highlights tribal contributions to the nation’s development.
Speaking at the inauguration, Governor Nallu emphasized the importance of tribal identity, cultural preservation, and inclusive development. “The Janjatiya Garima Utsav is a tribute to tribal India’s dignity and resilience. Birsa Munda’s spirit lives on in New Bharat,” he said.
