Enforced Disappearances of Baloch Civilians Condemned by Rights Groups

Human rights organisations and student bodies have strongly condemned an alleged surge in enforced disappearances of Baloch civilians in Pakistan, including students and women, reportedly involving security forces.
According to the Baloch Students Council, several of its members from the Punjab and Islamabad chapters have been forcibly disappeared, raising concerns among student and rights groups.
In a separate incident, a Baloch woman identified as Habiba Peerjan, originally from the Nazarabad Tump region in Balochistan and currently residing in Karachi, was allegedly taken during a raid at her residence in Baldia Town on May 25.
The Baloch Women Forum said the repeated targeting of Baloch women reflects a disturbing pattern of repression and collective punishment.
Human rights wing Paank of the Baloch National Movement demanded the immediate and safe release of Habiba Peerjan and called on authorities to end enforced disappearances and harassment of families across Balochistan and Karachi.
The groups said that for many affected families, occasions such as Eid have turned into periods of grief and uncertainty due to the disappearance of their loved ones.
