In IPL cricket, Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a commanding 55-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Hyderabad last night, strengthening their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a formidable total of 255 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. Ishan Kishan led the charge with an unbeaten 79 runs, while Abhishek Sharma scored 56 and Heinrich Klaasen contributed 51. For Bengaluru, Rasikh Salam picked up two wickets.
In reply, Royal Challengers Bengaluru could manage only 200 for 4 in their 20 overs despite a fighting 56-run knock from Rajat Patidar. Eshan Malinga was the standout bowler for Hyderabad with two wickets.
Ishan Kishan was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant unbeaten innings.
Despite the defeat, Royal Challengers Bengaluru continue to lead the IPL points table, while Sunrisers Hyderabad remain in third place with renewed hopes of securing a playoff berth.
