India Assures 27 Medals at Asian U-15 Boxing Championships
May 07, 2026India’s young boxers delivered a remarkable performance at the Asian Boxing Under-15 and Under-17 Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, assuring 27 medals out of a possible 30 in the Under-15 category.
The Indian girls’ team dominated the competition by securing medals in 14 of the 15 weight categories, while the boys’ team ensured 13 medals from 15 categories with a series of commanding performances.
The boxers impressed with a blend of aggressive attacking play and tactical discipline throughout the tournament. Several Indian pugilists registered convincing victories, including multiple referee-stopped contests, underlining the depth of talent in the country’s youth boxing programme.
The strong showing further highlights India’s growing stature in Asian age-group boxing and reflects the steady progress of its grassroots development system.
