Tripura Cabinet Approves Recruitment Drive Across Departments


Agartala, May 2: The state Cabinet has approved recruitment for a total of 112 posts across various government departments, with 107 posts to be filled through examinations and five through promotion, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced on Saturday. Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, the minister said that under the Finance Department, 50 posts of Senior Computer Assistant (Group-C) will be filled in the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts. The recruitment process will be conducted through the Tripura Public Service Commission.

He further informed that 43 technical posts will be filled in the General Administration (Printing and Stationery) Department. Candidates must have passed Madhyamik and completed ITI training. These recruitments will be conducted through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura. Additionally, in the Election Department, six Lower Division Clerk (LDC, Group-C) posts and four Group-D posts will be filled through the same board. Five existing employees will also be promoted to LDC (Group-C) posts. In the Home (Jail) Department, four pharmacists will be recruited under the Allopathy wing.

The minister also announced the rollout of a new welfare scheme titled “Chief Minister’s Assistance to Unmarried and Dependent Daughter/Son.” Under this scheme, one unmarried and dependent child (above 18 years) of soldiers from the state who were martyred while serving in paramilitary forces will receive a monthly allowance of ₹2,000. Only one eligible child per family will be entitled to this benefit. Furthermore, the Cabinet has decided to enhance the monthly pension for widows of soldiers from the state who died during World War II. The pension has been increased from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 for the 12 surviving beneficiaries, the minister added.
