Iran’s Foreign Minister Meets Putin in Russia Amid West Asia Tensions

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Saint Petersburg for high-level talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as tensions continue to rise across West Asia following recent military developments.

The discussions are expected to focus on the regional situation after reported joint military strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran, along with broader security and diplomatic coordination between Tehran and Moscow. Both sides are anticipated to reaffirm their closely aligned positions on key regional and international issues.

The visit comes shortly after Araghchi’s trip to Oman, where he held talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. Those discussions centered on bilateral relations and regional stability, with Oman reiterating its support for dialogue and mediation as a pathway toward de-escalation and long-term peace in the region.
