Tripura's Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Tinku Roy, actively participated in the high-level "Chintan Shivir" here on Sunday, joining Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and fellow ministers from across states and Union Territories to chart a roadmap for India's sporting future.
Hosted in the scenic summer capital amid blooming tulips, the conclave focused on forging a "strong, modern, and inclusive sports infrastructure" through seamless Centre-state collaboration. Roy highlighted the resolve to advance Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary target of transforming India into a global sports powerhouse by 2047, coinciding with the nation's centennial independence celebrations.
"In the esteemed presence of Mansukh Mandaviya, we committed to firm steps forward, hand in hand," Roy posted on social media. "Our unified efforts will sustain momentum toward this far-reaching goal."
The discussions come at a pivotal time, with India eyeing enhanced performances in upcoming global events like the Olympics and Asian Games. Ministers deliberated on grassroots development, world-class facilities, and talent nurturing, aligning with initiatives like Khelo India and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS).
