Tripura Launches EMT Training Programme to Boost Emergency Healthcare and Youth Employment

The Tripura government has launched a three-month Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training programme in Gomati district to strengthen emergency healthcare services and improve youth employability.

The initiative is being conducted under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and is jointly organised by the Directorate of Skill Development, Tripura, and the state’s Health and Family Welfare Department.

The programme aims to equip participants with essential emergency medical skills, enabling them to respond effectively in critical situations and support pre-hospital care services. Officials said the training will help create a pool of skilled manpower for ambulance services and other healthcare sectors.

Participants have welcomed the initiative, noting that it offers both practical skills and improved job prospects. Authorities believe the programme will not only enhance emergency response capacity in the region but also open up new employment opportunities for local youth.
