Campaign Heats Up Ahead of Phase 2 Polling in West Bengal

Campaigning has intensified across West Bengal ahead of the second phase of Assembly elections scheduled for April 29, with major political parties stepping up attacks and outreach efforts.
BJP leader Nitin Nabin held a roadshow in Baranagar on Saturday, expressing confidence that voters are ready for change and will reject what he described as “politics of fear.” Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari also targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her government of corruption and appeasement politics.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, addressing a press conference, said the BJP is poised for significant electoral gains in both Assam and West Bengal.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh claimed that the ruling party performed strongly in the first phase of polling and is on track to retain power in the state.
Congress leaders Pramod Tiwari and Akhilesh Prasad Singh asserted that their party would play a key role in forming the next government. The Congress is contesting the West Bengal elections independently after a gap of two decades.
With competing claims and sharp political exchanges, the campaign for Phase 2 has entered a crucial and high-voltage stage.
