The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning of hot and uncomfortable weather conditions across several districts of Tripura over the next three days, attributing the situation to intense heat coupled with high humidity.
According to the latest forecast, maximum temperatures in many parts of the State are likely to reach 36°C or above, which is about 2 to 4 degrees higher than the seasonal average. The prevailing humidity is expected to further aggravate discomfort levels, making conditions particularly oppressive during the daytime.
In view of the situation, the IMD has advised residents to take necessary precautions. People have been urged to stay hydrated, avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours, and wear light, breathable clothing. The department has also recommended limiting outdoor activities and ensuring proper ventilation indoors.
Authorities have cautioned that prolonged exposure to such weather conditions may lead to heat-related illnesses, including dehydration and heat exhaustion, especially among vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing health conditions.
