BJP Chief issues stern warning over post post-poll violence

Amid rising tensions following the ADC election results, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee on Wednesday visited several violence-affected areas across the state, assessing the ground situation and meeting party workers who were allegedly targeted.
During his visit, Bhattacharjee inspected damaged party offices and interacted with local leaders, displaced workers, and affected families. Several incidents of vandalism and disruption were reported from different regions, prompting concern within the party ranks.
Addressing the media, the BJP leader said that while electoral outcomes victory or defeat are intrinsic to democracy, violence in the aftermath is unacceptable. He warned that those found responsible for such acts would face strict legal consequences, adding that no individual involved in violence would be spared.
The BJP has accused sections of the TIPRA Motha Party of orchestrating targeted attacks on its workers and supporters. Allegations include damage to homes, arson at party offices, intimidation, and disturbances in local markets, forcing several families to flee and seek shelter.
Particular concern has been raised over the situation in Manu Bankul, a predominantly tribal area traditionally regarded as peaceful, where reports suggest a noticeable escalation in violence following the BJP’s electoral success.
The developments have intensified political confrontation in the state, with the BJP alleging attempts to destabilize normal life. Meanwhile, the administration has increased security deployment and surveillance in sensitive areas to restore order and prevent further escalation.
