Post-poll tension: CM Dr Manik Saha visits affected families in Khowai


In the wake of reported post-poll violence following the TTAADC election results, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday visited Khowai district to assess the ground situation and extend support to affected party workers.

The visit comes amid reports of political unrest in several parts of the district after the declaration of results. The Chief Minister’s tour aimed at reviewing the law and order situation and boosting the morale of those impacted by the incidents.

Upon arrival, Dr. Saha attended a key meeting at the BJP Khowai district office. The meeting was attended by senior party leaders including Bipin Debbarma, district president Binoy Debbarma, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, and district general secretary Samir Das, among others. Discussions focused on the prevailing law and order scenario and measures to ensure the safety and security of affected workers.

Following the meeting, the Chief Minister proceeded to Asharambari constituency, specifically Karangichhara, to personally visit families affected by the violence. He is expected to interact with victims and assess the extent of damage on the ground.

The visit underscores the state government’s focus on restoring normalcy and addressing concerns arising from post-poll disturbances in the region.
