Union Home Minister Amit Shah has welcomed the Government’s decision to increase Dearness Allowance (DA) by 2 percent for central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners. The revised rates will be effective from January 1 of the current year.
In a social media post, Shah said that the increase reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring the financial security and well-being of employees and their families, particularly in the face of rising living costs.
He also highlighted the Union Cabinet’s approval for the continuation of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-III (PMGSY-III), with an allocation of ₹83,977 crore. The scheme aims to enhance rural connectivity by linking key areas such as agricultural markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.
According to Shah, the initiative is expected to strengthen the rural economy, create employment opportunities, and make transportation more efficient and accessible in remote areas.
