Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called upon all Members of Parliament to support the proposed amendment to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, stressing that millions of women across the country are closely watching Parliament’s decision.
In a social media post, the Prime Minister said the ongoing discussion in Parliament marks a crucial moment for ensuring greater political representation for women. He added that the government has addressed all concerns and clarified misconceptions surrounding the amendment.
Modi emphasized that it is time for women, who constitute nearly half of the nation’s population, to receive their rightful share in governance. He urged all political parties to rise above differences and vote in favour of the amendment, describing it as a historic opportunity to honour and empower the women of India.
