Dharmanagar By-Election: Polling Teams Dispatched, Voting Tomorrow
Apr 08, 2026Debjani Chowdhury, Returning Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate for the 56-Dharmanagar Assembly by-election, on Wednesday said that polling personnel have been dispatched with election materials to their respective polling stations from Dharmanagar Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School.
Speaking to the media in Dharmanagar, she informed that voting will be held on April 9 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A total of 46,183 voters are eligible to cast their votes, including 22,380 male voters and 23,763 female voters.
She further stated that 55 polling stations have been set up, of which 11 are model polling stations and 11 will be managed entirely by women polling personnel. Central security forces will be deployed at every polling station to ensure peaceful and smooth conduct of the by-election, she added.
