Delhi High Court Orders Immediate Takedown of Honey Singh, Badshah’s Controversial Track

The Delhi High Court has directed the immediate removal of the controversial track Volume 1, associated with rappers Honey Singh and Badshah from their early days with the Mafia Mundeer group. The court described the song’s lyrics as “grossly vulgar, offensive, and disrespectful towards women,” emphasizing that such content has no place in a society that upholds basic standards of decency.

The bench, led by Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, stated that even the title of the song was too objectionable to reproduce in the official order, underlining the seriousness of the issue. The court instructed the artists and anyone holding rights to the track to remove all versions—original, remixed, or altered—from social media, streaming platforms, and other digital spaces immediately.

The case was filed by an organization that highlighted the song’s widespread circulation online and noted Honey Singh’s recent performance of parts of the track at a concert. After reviewing the lyrics privately, the court concluded that the song lacks any artistic or social value and portrays women in a degrading manner.

Authorities have assured the court that remaining content will be acted upon swiftly, and the petitioner can report additional links for removal. The matter is set for further hearing on May 7 to monitor compliance with the court’s directives.
