Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, is set to visit Jiribam from April 4 to 6 as part of ongoing efforts to promote peace and reconciliation in the state.
This will be his second visit to the district since assuming office, underlining the importance of Jiribam in the current situation. The district, which shares a border with Assam, has remained sensitive amid tensions between communities.
During his visit, the Chief Minister is expected to meet leaders from both the Meitei and Kuki communities to encourage dialogue and mutual understanding. He is also likely to assess the ground situation in Jiribam and adjoining areas.
The visit is part of the state government’s broader initiative to restore normalcy and strengthen trust among communities following recent unrest in Manipur.
