Bengali Actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee Dies in Drowning Accident in Odisha


Popular Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee tragically died on Sunday after a drowning incident at Talsari Beach in Odisha. He was 43 years old.

Banerjee, known for his work in Bengali cinema and television, was reportedly filming the TV serial Bhole Baba Par Karega when he entered the sea during the shoot and went under. Crew members recovered him from the water, but he remained submerged for a significant period. He was rushed to a hospital in Digha, where he was declared dead on arrival. Preliminary reports suggest drowning as the cause of death.

The actor is survived by his wife, fellow actor Priyanka Sarkar, and their 13-year-old son. Priyanka Sarkar has requested privacy for the family during this difficult time.

Authorities noted that no official permission had been obtained for shooting at the beach. Industry bodies have called for an investigation into the safety lapses during the shoot.

Banerjee’s untimely death has left fans and the Bengali entertainment community in shock, with tributes pouring in for the actor remembered for his memorable roles on screen.
