Brent Crude Surges Past $115 Amid Escalating Middle East Conflict

Global oil prices surged on Monday, with Brent crude climbing past $115 per barrel, as escalating tensions in the Middle East heightened fears of supply disruptions. The benchmark rose 2.7 percent to $115.66, marking a sharp upward trend in energy markets.

The spike follows recent developments in the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Over the weekend, the Houthis launched their first attacks on Israel, signaling a potential widening of the conflict across the region.

Rising geopolitical tensions have raised concerns over the safety of critical global shipping routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea. Any disruption in these corridors could significantly impact global oil supply, driving prices even higher.

Brent crude has now surged nearly 59 percent this month, marking its steepest monthly gain since the Gulf War. Analysts warn that continued instability in the region could further strain energy markets and increase economic pressures worldwide.
