Kamrup Begins Home Voting for Elderly and Disabled Voters
Mar 30, 2026
The Kamrup district administration has initiated a home voting facility for eligible voters as part of preparations for the upcoming Assam assembly elections. The special arrangement allows persons with disabilities and senior citizens aged 85 years and above to cast their votes from the comfort of their homes.
According to official reports, the home voting process will be carried out from March 30 to April 1, 2026. The initiative will cover six legislative assembly constituencies within the district.
Election officials will visit registered voters at their residences to facilitate the process, ensuring that voting is conducted securely and confidentially. The move aims to improve voter participation and make the electoral process more inclusive for those unable to visit polling stations.
