Two Held with Rs 8 Lakh Worth Yaba Tablets


In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, police from Bodhjungnagar Police Station arrested two persons and seized Yaba tablets worth nearly Rs 8 lakh.

Officer-in-Charge Prashanta Deb said that the operation was carried out on Sunday night during naka checking at Satmukhia under the police station’s jurisdiction. An auto-rickshaw was intercepted and thoroughly searched, leading to the recovery of around 8,000 Yaba tablets from the possession of the accused.

The two arrested individuals are residents of Aralia and Sepahijala areas. Meanwhile, the auto driver managed to escape from the spot.

Police further informed that the accused will be produced before the court on Monday, with a request for five days’ police remand to facilitate further investigation into the case.
