Tripura Police Step Up Election Security Preparations
Mar 30, 2026Director General of Police Anurag Dhankar on Monday conducted a high-level review meeting to assess election preparedness and security arrangements across Tripura ahead of the upcoming TTAADC elections and bye-elections.
The meeting, held in hybrid mode, was attended by senior officials from Police Headquarters (PHQ), District Superintendents of Police (SPs), Commandants of TSR Battalions, and Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs). Key discussions focused on strengthening law enforcement strategies to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections.
During the review, the DGP stressed the importance of heightened vigilance, seamless coordination among various units, and timely deployment of security personnel, particularly in sensitive areas. He also directed officers to take proactive measures to prevent any disruption and maintain strict law and order throughout the election process.
