PM Modi urges unity in Mann Ki Baat amid West Asia crisis and energy concerns

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed concern over the emerging crisis in West Asia, warning of potential disruptions in petrol and diesel supplies. Addressing the nation in his monthly radio programme, he said the situation poses challenges as the region remains central to India’s energy needs.

Emphasising resilience, the Prime Minister said India is better prepared to face such global uncertainties due to strong international relations and internal strengths developed over the past decade. He voiced confidence that the country would overcome this challenge, just as it did during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Modi also highlighted the welfare of millions of Indians living in Gulf countries, expressing gratitude to those nations for their continued support and assistance. He urged citizens to remain united and avoid politicising the issue, calling it a matter of national interest.

Warning against misinformation, the Prime Minister advised people to stay vigilant and rely only on official government updates. He said rumours and misleading narratives could harm the country’s stability during sensitive times.

In his address, Modi also promoted the Gyan Bharatam Survey, an initiative aimed at documenting India’s rich manuscript heritage. He encouraged citizens to participate by sharing information and images of manuscripts through the dedicated app, noting contributions from across the country.

Highlighting youth engagement, he praised initiatives under MY Bharat for involving young people in governance and policymaking. Referring to a recent budget-related quiz and essay competition, he commended the enthusiasm of participants and their contributions to national development, particularly on topics such as farmer welfare.

The Prime Minister concluded by reiterating the importance of unity, awareness, and collective effort in navigating current global challenges.
