Two Killed, Eight Injured in Pakistani Shelling of Kunar Province, Afghanistan

At least two people were killed and eight others injured on Wednesday after the Pakistani military fired 85 artillery shells into Kunar province, Afghanistan. Afghan authorities reported that 16 of the shells struck populated areas in Nari district, resulting in one civilian death and six injuries.
Afghanistan’s Information and Culture Department spokesperson, Zia-ur-Rahman Spinghar, confirmed that Pakistani forces also conducted two drone strikes and 47 long-range projectile attacks in Sarkano district, killing one person and injuring two more. Other districts, including Manura, Shultan, and Asadabad, were reportedly targeted, though no casualties were reported there.
In response, Afghan forces destroyed three Pakistani posts along the Durand Line near Nawapas in Sarkano district, killing one Pakistani soldier.
The incident is part of ongoing cross-border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, which have intensified in recent weeks and resulted in casualties on both sides, including civilians.
