CM Manik Saha Leads Major Tribal Induction into BJP in Tripura
Mar 24, 2026In a notable political development in Tripura, several prominent tribal leaders from the TTAADC region formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday, in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
The induction programme was also attended by BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee along with other senior party functionaries. The event underscored the BJP’s growing outreach and support among tribal communities in the state.
According to party leaders, there is a rising sentiment within the tribal society that the BJP can ensure meaningful and inclusive development in the TTAADC areas. This belief has encouraged several leaders and grassroots workers to shift allegiance to the party, moving away from other political platforms.
Among the key leaders who joined the BJP were TTAADC Executive Member Ananta Debbarma and MDC Soudagar Koloi, along with a number of other tribal representatives.
The joining was marked by a pledge to strengthen the party’s presence in the ADC and to work collectively towards the socio-economic development of the region. Senior BJP leaders expressed confidence that the new entrants would play a crucial role in expanding the party’s base and advancing its development agenda in Tripura.
