Two Mizoram Men Held with Suspected Drugs in Damchhara
Mar 20, 2026In a significant anti-narcotics operation, police in Damchhara apprehended two persons from Mizoram and recovered suspected contraband items from their scooter.
According to the police, the operation was carried out in the Damchhara area following specific inputs. During checking, police intercepted a scooter and detained two individuals travelling on it. Upon search, suspected drug-related materials were recovered from their possession and from the vehicle.
Police identified the detained persons as residents of Mizoram. The recovered items were seized on the spot in accordance with legal procedure, and both accused were taken into custody for further interrogation.
Police said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway to determine the source of the contraband, its destination, and whether a wider network is involved in the illegal trade.
The successful operation is being viewed as part of the police’s continued drive against drug trafficking and cross-border narcotics movement in the region.
